The Space Foundation, which puts on the annual Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, and the Secure World Foundation have joined forces to help nations in Latin America find their way into space. Just as the private sector is discovering more commercial opportunities in orbit (see page 34), the realization is growing among some leaders in South and Central America that there are practical reasons for devoting money and talent to domestic space programs.
