Engine Cylinder Failure Caused Crash; Cab Cites Plane Scheduling
A Pacific Air Lines DC-3, N 67589, crashed near the Santa Maria Airport, Santa Maria, Calif., while making an emergency landing following takeoff at approximately 2018 PST, Oct. 26, 1959. The copilot was killed, the captain was seriously injured, and the purser and 17 passengers received injuries of varying degrees.
